Alonso not expecting ‘many surprises' in Monaco

Despite expectations, or perhaps hopes, of a surprise, Fernando Alonso believes Formula 1's top three teams will dominate this weekend's Monaco Grand Prix. The characteristics of the Monte Carlo street circuit means F1's midfield teams often head to Monaco dreaming of a great result. That, though, seldom happens. Only once in the last five years has a driver outside of Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull stood on the podium. And Alonso doesn't see why that would change this year.
