Grosjean receives grid penalty for Monaco GP
Romain Grosjean handed a three-place grid penalty for the next round in Monaco after stewards punished him for causing the opening lap collision that saw himself and this dramatic crash ended Pierre Gasly and Nico Hulkenberg race. On the opening lap – at turn 3 Grosjean lost control of his car when responding to a shake from his Haas teammate Kevin Magnussen ahead of him – that was a normal incident – but the Frenchman was criticised for staying on the throttle after spinning, which caused a puff of smoke around him.
