Williams part ways with chief designer
Chief designer Ed Wood has left Williams after 12 years with the team citing 'personal reasons' for his departure. Wood joined Williams in 2006 having previously worked at Ferrari and Renault. However, after 12 years with the Grove team and a wretched start to this year's championship, Williams have confirmed his departure. 'We can confirm that Ed Wood has decided to leave Williams for personal reasons,' the team said. 'As chief designer, Ed has been instrumental in many successes during his time with the team, including the FW36 and FW37 cars which secured third place in the Constructors' Championship in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
