Carey: Asia and US F1 expansion not at expense of Europe

Amid reports of an extra grand prix in China as well as street races in Hanoi and Miami, Formula 1 chief Chase Carey insists that the sport's expansion into Asia and North America will not impact or affect its traditional European roots. Carey said in an interview, 'We have been very clear from the day we came in about our goals and ambitions to grow the sport in the US, and also in Asia. We are very proud of the race we have in Texas, but we have talked about destination cities and I guess the three we have thrown out most often have been New York, Miami and Las Vegas.'
