Verstappen crashes in Baku practice as Bottas sets pace

Valtteri Bottas made fastest lap-time during the first practice session at the 2018 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku street circuit. The Finn’s time of 1: 44.424 with his Mercedes, 0.035 seconds faster than the Red Bull speedy Daniel Ricciardo, who maintained his good form after winning in China two weeks ago. Force India ace Sergio Perez was third, while defending world champion Lewis Hamilton was fourth but nearly a second off the pace set by his Mercedes team-mate and Ricciardo.
