Mercedes & Porsche granted Formula E powertrain homologation

Following their decision to join the series last July, the FIA has added Mercedes and Porsche to the list of manufacturers that will homologate Formula E powertrains from season six. With the Formula E championship continuing to gain in popularity, competitiveness and road-relevance, both Porsche and Mercedes previously revealed their intention to join the series from season six. The total number of powertrain manufacturers will rise to eleven, with the newcomers being Mercedes, Porsche, BMW and Nissan – who will take over Renault's entry. They will join existing manufacturers Audi Sport, DS Automobiles, Jaguar Land Rover, Mahindra Racing, NextEV NIO, Penske Autosport and Venturi...
