Vettel leads Raikkonen to Ferrari front row lock-out in Bahrain Sebastian Vettel claimed pole position in Saturday's qualifying session for the 2018 Bahrain Grand Prix with a new track record time of 1:27.958s. Vettel will be joined on the front row by his Ferrari team mate Kimi Raikkonen, who lost out by 0.143s. Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo will form the second row of the grid for the race. Lewis Hamilton was fourth fastest in qualifying but will start from ninth due to an overnight gearbox penalty. In response to the setback, he strategically set his Q2 time on soft tyres.
