Water bottle issue meant Sainz ‘nearly vomited'
Australian Grand Prix – A water pump issue in Carlos Sainz's drink system caused the Renault driver to ‘nearly vomit' during the race in Melbourne. After finishing the opening round of the season in tenth place – completing a double points finish for Renault in the process – Sainz conceded that an over-consumption of water had made him unwell in the race. He was initially competing strongly against team-mate Nico Hulkenberg and the McLarens, but he fell away during the race and came under pressure from Force India's Sergio Perez.
