Hamilton: Close gaps between three teams 'exciting'

Australian Grand Prix – Reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton claims he is buoyed by the apparent closeness of the competition in the opening practice sessions. Whilst Hamilton enjoyed a half-second advantage in the opening practice session, the gap was reduced in second practice, with the top four separated by three tenths of a second. Within that top four were the three front-running constructors from last season – Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull – and, speaking after practice, Hamilton said he was relishing the challenge of having to push his car even harder.
