Toro Rosso sees tactical engine penalties as probable in 2018
Toro Rosso's Franz Tost foresees taking a power unit grid penalty with Honda later this season to enjoy the benefit of using a fourth fresh engine. Engine allocation for teams drops from four to three units this year, and to just two MGU-K, energy store and control electronics elements for the full 21-race schedule. While manufacturers have worked on further improving engine reliability, teams are considering taking tactical engine penalties, and Toro Rosso may do the same team boss Tost suggests.
