Anyone who has seen Grand Prix Driver on Amazon will be aware that from the outset, McLaren's 2017 season was clearly doomed. Having encountered various issues marrying up the all-new Honda engine to the MCL32, the initial fire-up was a dismal failure as there appeared to be an issue with the electrics resulting in the team having to fire up the car manually. No such issues a year later for the Woking team, albeit with a new engine partner, having dumped Honda and its Yen in favour of a customer deal with Renault.
