Senna's McLaren MP4-8 to go up for auction

Ayrton Senna's winning McLaren MP4/8 chassis will go up for auction in May and is expected to fetch more than $5 million (£3.5m). The chassis, which Senna drove to victory three times in 1993, including his final Monaco win before it was replaced with 'chassis seven' in Portugal, will be auctioned off by Bonhams. Bonhams have described the MP4/8 as being 'startlingly well-preserved' and its Ford engine in 'running order'. 'Ayrton Senna was the most charismatic grand prix car driver of the modern era, and the MP4/8A was the car with which his team, McLaren, surpassed Ferrari as the most successful team in Formula 1 world championship...
