Verstappen matured a lot in 2017, says Ricciardo
Daniel Ricciardo says his Red Bull Formula 1 teammate Max Verstappen has "matured a lot" during the 2017 season and now has more respect for his rivals. Ricciardo finished 32 points clear of Verstappen in the drivers' standings, but the latter suffered more reliability problems, particularly early in the season. The duo banged wheels in Hungary, after Verstappen locked up and ran into the side of Ricciardo into the right Turn 2 left-hander on the opening lap. Ricciardo described the move as "amateur" with Verstappen later speaking to his teammate one-to-one and apologising for the incident.
