Marko admits he's mystified by Kvyat's decline

Red Bull's motorsport consultant Helmut Marko says he's still mystified by Daniil Kvyat's steep decline in form. The young Russian made his mark by storming to the GP3 Series championship in 2013. That earned him a promotion to the Toro Rosso F1 team in 2014, and then to Red Bull in 2015 alongside Daniel Ricciardo. But Kvyat was demoted back to Toro Rosso in 2016 in a straight swap with the latest rising star, Max Verstappen. Although the team retained him for 2017, he was eventually dropped for Singapore and Malaysia. His contract was finally terminated after the US Grand Prix.
