Wehrlein deserves to be in F1, says Wolff
Pascal Wehrlein has delivered "exceptional" performances on track and deserves a place in Formula 1, according to Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff. The Mercedes protege is unlikely to be on the F1 grid next year after losing his Sauber seat to Formula 2 champion Charles Leclerc while Sergey Sirotkin is set to get the last remaining drive at Williams. Mercedes is currently assessing the alternative racing programmes available to Wehrlein for 2018.
