Vettel wraps up 2017 at the top of the timesheet

Formula 1 teams concluded their 2017 campaign on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, with Ferrari and Sebastian Vettel remaining at the top of the timesheet. Pirelli's two-day tyre test ended with the German driver comfortably ahead, although Vettel did not improve on his morning's best of 1:37.551. Mercedes Valtteri Bottas on the other did go faster late in the day, clocking in with 141 laps and 1:38.490, or just about a second off the Ferrari's best time. Robert Kubica took over from Sergey Sirotkin at Williams to put 28 laps under his belt and finish his all-important test with the Grove-based outfit with a best lap of 1:39.485, almost 0.5s faster than the Russian's best for the day.
