McLaren names Norris reserve F1 driver for 2018

European F3 champion Lando Norris will be McLaren's test and reserve driver for the 2018 Formula 1 season. The McLaren protege impressed when he drove an F1 car for the first time during in-season testing in Hungary. As part of the reserve role, the 2016 McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver Award winner will attend races and will play an active role in on-track testing and in the simulator. McLaren said he is "currently assessing the opportunities and budget required for a full single-seater racing campaign" next year in addition to the F1 role.
