Alonso "couldn't believe" failure after "sublime" performance

Fernando Alonso believes his driving level during the United States Grand Prix weekend was "sublime", but was left lamenting another retirement. The McLaren driver was running in eighth position when he reported a lack of power from his Honda engine and was asked to drive back to the pits to retire. It was Alonso's 10th retirement of 2017, making him the first McLaren driver with 10 DNFs in a season since Kimi Raikkonen in 2002.
