Hartley knocked out in Q1 on debut

Toro Rosso debutant Brendon Hartley has admitted he did not '100 per cent get it together' in his first qualifying session after being knocked out in Q1. The New Zealander already knew he would starting at the back of the grid ahead of qualifying due to a hefty grid penalty for new engine parts. But he still felt he could have showcased his talent a little more with only Pascal Wehrlein and Kevin Magnussen slower than him in Q1 at the Circuit of The Americas. 'It was OK,' Hartley said back in the paddock. 'We knew we had a grid penalty anyway but I would have liked to have been a little closer.
