Usain Bolt named official starter for US GP

Eight-time Olympic gold medallist Usain Bolt will officially begin proceedings for this weekend's United States Grand Prix after being named as the starter for the Formula 1 race in Austin, Texas. As part of Liberty Media's push to improve the spectacle surrounding F1 races, a number of off-track events in the lead-up to lights out in Austin have been planned, including driver introductions courtesy of iconic announcer Michael Buffer. Bolt will also play a part in the build-up to green, going for a hot lap with Lewis Hamilton in a Mercedes AMG road car before sending the field on its way for the formation lap.
