Pirelli confirms tyre selections for US Grand Prix

Pirelli has confirmed the compound choices made by drivers for next weekend’s United States Grand Prix. Pirelli has nominated the three softest compounds from its range – the Ultrasoft, Supersoft and Soft – with drivers, as usual, having free choice for 10 of their 13 sets. Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull drivers will all have seven sets of the Ultrasoft compound available, with only minor variance in the number of Supersoft and Softs chosen by each driver. Williams and McLaren have taken the most aggressive stance, selecting nine sets of Ultrasofts, with the remaining teams opting for either seven or eight sets of the purple-banded compound.
