Palmer handed Suzuka grid penalty after power unit changes

Jolyon Palmer has become the latest driver to be hit with a grid penalty for this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix after the Renault Formula 1 team made changes to his power unit ahead of Saturday's running at Suzuka. FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer confirmed in his Saturday morning report that Renault had changed the turbocharger, internal combustion engine and MGU-H on Palmer's power unit, amounting to a 20-place grid drop. Palmer entered the Suzuka weekend hoping to return to form after a tough Malaysian Grand Prix weekend that saw him spin twice in the race, having scored his first points of the year at the prior event in Singapore.
