Alonso to be hit with 35-place grid penalty
ernando Alonso is set for a 35-place grid penalty at the Japanese Grand Prix after taking on new power unit elements, meaning he is likely to start Honda's home race from the very back of the field.Honda detected a hydraulic issue on Alonso's Internal Combustion (ICE) engine after Friday practice at Suzuka and, as a result, changed the power unit overnight.Alonso moves onto his 10th MGU-H and Turbocharger, eighth ICE and MGU-K, seventh Energy Store and sixth Control Electronics – the power unit spec is still 3.7.McLaren broke the paddock curfew in order to do so.Under current Formula 1 regulations, drivers are permitted to use only four of each of the six elements that make up the power...
