N acquires US television rights for Formula 1

Formula 1 will return to its original United States television partner with a move next season to N. All 21 Formula 1 world championship races will be televised next year on ABC, N or N2, with the new deal calling for more than 125 hours of F1 programming. The first F1 race aired in the U.S. on ABC in 1962 when highlights of the Monaco Grand Prix aired on ABC's 'Wide World of Sports' one week after the race. 'N has had a long commitment to motorsports, and Formula 1 is a crown jewel in the sport,' Burke Magnus, N executive vice president of programming & scheduling, said in a statement Wednesday.
