Ricciardo hopes to avoid gearbox penalty

ed Bull's Daniel Ricciardo is optimistic that he can avoid a five-place grid penalty at the Malaysian Grand Prix for a gearbox change, in the wake of his problem at the preceding race in Singapore.Ricciardo claimed second position at Marina Bay but had to manage an issue for much of the race, amid a loss of gearbox oil.Red Bull ran the affected gearbox during practice on Friday in Malaysia, and the Australian believes that all went well, and can therefore avoid a sanction."I think we ran it today, the gearbox, that was the plan, to check that it all went well," he said."We stayed on track and we brought it back to the pits.
