Gasly F1 debut in Malaysia made official by Toro Rosso

Toro Rosso have officially announced that Red Bull junior Pierre Gasly will make his Formula 1 debut at the Malaysian Grand Prix in place of Daniil Kvyat. The 2016 GP2 champion has been aligned with a step up to F1 since winning the junior formulae, but was placed in the Japanese Super Formula series until a spot was available. With Carlos Sainz Jr on loan to Renault from Red Bull for 2018, Gasly is expected to have a place at Toro Rosso for next season. “I would like to thank everyone who has helped me get this chance in my motor racing career and specifically, Red Bull, Dr. Helmut Marko and Scuderia Toro Rosso.
