McLaren slump to £6million loss in 2016

McLaren's rocky relationship with Honda has clearly been reflected in their latest financial figures – falling from a £4million profit in 2015 to a £6million loss last year. McLaren actually improved from ninth to sixth in the World Constructors' Standings between 2015 and 2016, but a combination of a fall in sponsorship earnings, heavy investment in its technology consultancy operation and the after-effects of lower prize money due to their dismal 2015 campaign. The accounts also reveal that Ron Dennis' pay dropped by £200,000 to £3.7million in 2016. The long-standing manager of McLaren sold his 25 per cent stake for £275million back in June. McLaren...
