FIA amend jump start regulations for 2018

The FIA will introduce penalties for illegal race starts in 2018 after reviewing the Sporting Regulations – for both jumping the lights and not lining up on the grid correctly. Valtteri Bottas was accused of jumping the start at the Austrian Grand Prix by both Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo, but his data revealed he had moved within 0.201s of the lights going out. But that race incident, as well as Vettel lining up partly outside of his grid slot in China, has prompted the FIA to review the regulations.
