FIA target International F3 Championship introduction for 2019
Following the introduction of the Formula Two championship this year, the FIA have set their sights on creating an International Formula Three Championship for 2019. After the approval of the World Motor Sport Council this week, the FIA have publicly outlined proposals to implement the new series, having already established the Formula Two and Formula Four Championships. With the FIA and new Formula One owners Liberty Media expressing a desire for a more streamlined feeder series system, at the start of the year the GP2 Series was re-branded as the Formula Two Championship.
