Perez donates to Mexico City relief fund
Sergio Perez has donated three million pesos (£124,500) to support the victims of the Mexico City earthquake which has killed more than 200 people. Perez's home country was struck by a 7.1 magnitude quake on Tuesday, forcing many buildings to collapse. The 27-year-old, who has recently signed a new one-year deal with Force India, posted on social media confirming his donation and to raise awareness of the Carlos Sim foundation, which will donate $5 dollars for every dollar that Sergio Perez's own foundation receives. 'I'm deeply concerned for what my country is living,' said Perez. 'It's time to be united.' The Mexican Grand Prix is set to take place in the capital on 27-29 October.
