Ericsson to get grid drop for new gearbox

– Marcus Ericsson will be hit with a five-place grid penalty for the Singapore Grand Prix, with Sauber forced to fit a new gearbox to his car after he crashed in final practice.Ericsson lost control of his C36-Ferrari as he negotiated Turn 19 during Saturday evening's session at Marina Bay and slid rearwards into the wall, causing significant damage.On his return to the pits, mechanics determined that a new gearbox was required.Under current Formula 1 rules, drivers must use a gearbox for six consecutive events, though are permitted to use a new gearbox if they retire from the preceding race.As Ericsson's gearbox has been changed ahead of time, he will drop five places from wherever...
