Renault confirm Sainz 2018 ‘loan' deal

Renault have confirmed that Carlos Sainz will partner Nico Hulkenberg for the 2018 season, as part of the various power unit agreements. As part of the agreement for Toro Rosso to end their Renault power unit contract early – which has facilitated a move to Honda power units – Toro Rosso have agreed to loan Carlos Sainz to Renault for 2018. The deal means that Sainz will remain part of the Red Bull family, having raced for Toro Rosso from 2015-2017.
