Story behind the photo: Ticker-tape celebration for Monza podium

After every grand prix, ace photographer Mark Sutton of Sutton Images gives us a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to cover Formula 1 from behind the lens. The history of the Monza circuit, located in the Royal Villa park near Milan, has created so many memories since it was built in 1922. The Tifosi were hoping for a Scuderia Ferrari win on Italian soil, but with Mercedes AMG F1’s engine advantage it was always going to be difficult. After a powerful 1-2 for Lewis Hamilton and Vallteri Bottas, the celebrations that followed are the best of the season, with the crowd invading the track and bringing with them flags, banners and emotions.
