Hamilton critical of 'NASCAR' caution phase
– Mercedes' Lewis Hamilton has criticised Race Control's decision to use the Safety Car, rather than the Virtual Safety Car, in order to clear debris at the Belgian Grand Prix.Hamilton held a slender advantage over Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel when Force India pair Esteban Ocon and Sergio Pérez collided between La Source and Eau Rouge on lap 30 of 44.Bodywork was littered over the circuit, with Pérez also dropping tyre debris along the Kemmel Straight, and the Safety Car came out.Mercedes did not have fresh Ultra Soft tyres remaining, meaning Hamilton was put onto another set of Softs, while rival Vettel used the purple-banded compound once more.Hamilton fended off Vettel during a...
