Ricciardo: Even the long runs were strong

Daniel Ricciardo got his Hungarian Grand Prix weekend off to the best start possible by topping the time sheets at the end of both free practice sessions on Friday, and is cautiously optimistic he can fight for pole position on Saturday. Speaking to reporters at the end of the first day at Hungaroring, Ricciardo was asked if he had a shot at pole, 'Today says yes, so let's see tomorrow. I got good confidence after today. Happy.' It was no secret that Red Bull had significant updates for the race weekend in Budapest where the tight nature of the track plays to the strengths of the aero efficient RB13.
