Mercedes to quit DTM in favour of Formula E

Joining another large number of car manufacturers aiming to display their potential in electric performance design, Mercedes have announced they will join Formula E in 2019/2020 season. Along with it, the company announced a shock departure from DTM at the end of the 2018 season. 'This new approach will see Mercedes-Benz competing at both ends of the motorsport spectrum: in Formula 1, the pinnacle of motorsport combining high technology and the most demanding competitive challenge; and in Formula E, which embodies the transformation that is underway in the automotive industry.
