Robert Kubica to drive R.S.17 next Wednesday

Robert Kubica will test Renault’s R.S.17 during next week’s in-season group running at the Hungaroring, the team announced on Monday. Kubica competed in Formula 1 between 2006 and 2010, spending his last campaign with the French manufacturer, before he suffered serious arm injuries in a rally crash. Kubica returned to the cockpit of a Formula 1 car for the first time in six years when he sampled Renault’s 2012-spec E20 during a private test at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo Circuit last month. Kubica was encouraged by his progress and Renault organised a second test in the same machinery, which took place at Paul Ricard. Renault has now given Kubica one day in its R.S.17,...
