Revealed: Formula 1's new shield head protection device

Formula 1 will test yet another head protection device during the British Grand Prix this weekend, with Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel to run the new 'Shield' during first practice on Friday. Following trials of the Halo and Aeroscreen last season, the FIA chose to delay the introduction of a head protection device until 2018 in order to find a more suitable alternative, with drivers raising concerns over visibility as well as aesthetical reasons. A new screen, dubbed the 'Shield' has been undergoing development and will face its first real world test on Friday, with Vettel likely to complete a number of laps with the screen fitted to his SF70H.
