– GPUpdate.net readers have tipped Fernando Alonso to leave Formula 1 and continue his career in the United States in 2018, amid McLaren-Honda's troubles.In the latest reader poll, (Where will Alonso race in 2018?), 30 per cent of voters felt that Alonso would make the switch to the US, after his Indianapolis 500 run.Alonso, in a Honda-powered McLaren entry, run by Andretti, proved competitive throughout the month of May, running up front in the race before a late engine failure.Alonso himself has not ruled out a full-time drive in IndyCar next year, covering the subject when he dialled into NBC's coverage of last weekend's Texas round."Why not?
