Canadian GP promoter admits Sunday’s race was a perfect scenario

François Dumontier, President and CEO of Octane Racing Group inc. promoter of the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada, admitted that Sunday’s race was a perfect scenario. The event celebrated 50 years of Formula 1 racing in Canada, with the first event held in 1967 at Mosport Park, located near Toronto, Ontario. Since 1978, the Canadian Grand Prix is staged at the track built on Ile Notre-Dame on the St. Lawrence River. Asked by Motorsport.com if the weekend had been a promoter’s dream, Dumontier replied “Not a dream come true maybe, but it was an excellent scenario.
