Daniel Ricciardo admits Red Bull 'wasn’t that quick' in Canada
Daniel Ricciardo has admitted Red Bull “wasn’t that quick” at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve despite scoring a podium finish at the Canadian Grand Prix. The Australian driver had a difficult race from sixth on the grid, moving ahead of the Ferrrari duo early on before jumping up to third when his team-mate Max Verstappen retired. Red Bull opted for the soft tyre for the final stint and while he was able to get to the end on the hardest compound taken to Canada, he came under intense pressure from the Force India drivers and Sebastian Vettel late on. “I don’t think I had fun until I saw the chequered flag,” he said afterwards. “It was tough.
