Mercedes dismisses post-2018 quit claims

– Mercedes has rubbished suggestions made by pundit and former team owner Eddie Jordan that the manufacturer could return to solely being an engine supplier in Formula 1 for 2019.Mercedes, following a lengthy spell as an engine supplier, returned to team ownership in 2010, acquiring Brawn, and emerged at the front of the pack under revised regulations in 2014.Mercedes dominated the sport from 2014-16 but this year has been challenged by Ferrari, the teams having each won three races, with Ferrari holding a 17-point lead in the standings.Jordan, in an interview with German newspaper TZ, suggested that Mercedes would be better off returning as an engine supplier, due to its recent...
