Robert Kubica to test Renault F1 car in Valencia this week

Robert Kubica will get his first experience behind the wheel of a Formula 1 car since 2011 this week when he tests Renault's show car, a 2012-spec Lotus. The Polish driver saw his F1 career come to an end when he was involved in an off-season crash during a rally in Andorra after a piece of guardrail pierced his car and caused severe damage to his right-arm. Kubica has been keen to make a return to F1 and has even driven the Mercedes simulator to see how his arm – which now has limited movement – would cope with the tight space inside an F1 cockpit.
