Top F1 teams deserve more prize money - Gene Haas

Haas F1 Team owner Gene Haas believes the top teams in Formula 1 are entitled to more prize money than the smaller outfits, even if it means a team such as his own receives less than it otherwise would. The current prize money system is heavily weighted toward F1's older teams, with outfits like Ferrari, McLaren and Williams receiving a massive cash bonus on top of their prize money thanks to their 'historical' status. The remaining money is then distributed based on their Constructors' Standing, with the bottom-placed team receiving a tiny fraction of what the championship-winning team earns.
