Monaco: Why is there no F1 action on Friday?
– The Formula 1 fraternity heads into Friday at a Grand Prix weekend but in Monaco there is no track action from motorsport's top echelon.The reasoning behind the logic is fairly straightforward; the Thursday of the first Monaco weekend in 1929 was Ascension Day, the festival commemorating the belief of the bodily Ascension of Jesus into heaven.
