Red Bull has closed gap to Ferrari, say drivers

Red Bull Racing drivers Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo reckon upgrades brought for the Spanish Grand Prix have seen the team close the gap to Ferrari, after a solid showing in Friday practice. The Austrian team had a low-key start to the season, usually running as best of the rest behind a Mercedes/Ferrari title contest that it was looking to participate in. While maintaining that its Renault engine accounts for a chunk of its deficit to the front, Red Bull was hoping for noticeable improvement from the major aero upgrade package it was bringing to the first round of the European leg in Barcelona.
