Franchitti ‘amazed' by Alonso's Indy prep

Three-time Indianapolis 500 winner Dario Franchitti has been very impressed with how quickly Fernando Alonso has adapted to oval racing. Alonso sailed through the mandatory rookie test last week as he completed 110 laps and clocked 222 mph, and Franchitti believes the Spaniard's quick learning bodes well for the end of the month, 'I was amazed, I thought he got up to speed incredibly quickly,' said Franchitti at McLaren headquarters. 'I sat and watched the whole rookie test and I thought he did a great job.
