Charity football match to honour Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher will be honoured by a 'Champions for Charity' football match in July, set to take place in Mainz, Germany. The event, which was first held last year, sees sporting celebrities come together to raise money for charity. The 2016 football match attracted a crowd of 25,000 fans who saw the likes of Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher among stars from other sports. This year the match will honour seven-time world champion Schumacher – who is still recovering from a serious head injury sustained on a skiing holiday in 2013 – by donating toward the Keep Fighting Initiative set up by his family and manager.
