Alonso completes first Indy test

Fernando Alonso has completed his first test in IndyCar ahead of the Indianapolis 500 later this month. The Spaniard passed the Rookie Orientation Programme at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to ensure he will be able to race on May 28. The programme required Alonso to complete 10 laps at 205-210mph, 15 laps at 210-215mph and 15 laps over 215mph. Alonso, a two-time Formula 1 world champion, is sitting out the Monaco GP in order to take part in the iconic American race as he attempts to complete motorsport's Triple Crown.
