Nico Hulkenberg picks up four penalty points in China

Renault driver Nico Hülkenberg picked up four penalty points during the course of Sunday’s Chinese Grand Prix. The German racer was penalised for passing under the virtual safety car and the following safety car phase. He was also given five and 10-second time penalties for the incidents. Hülkenberg was deemed to have overtook Romain Grosjean during the VSC and Marcus Ericsson behind the safety car. Hülkenberg started the race from an encouraging seventh but it quickly unravelled and he ended up finishing in 12th place.
